Have We Really Replenished the Earth?

In Genesis 1:28 God commands Adam and Eve to “multiply and fill the earth.”

I’ve heard a lot of people say, “Well that’s one command we have obeyed.”

No we haven’t. I used to tell my students at the University of Colorado who were complaining about how crowded the earth was that the entire population of the world could stand inside Boulder county. Boulder county is less than 1% of the area of Colorado. So everyone could stand inside it and the rest of the world be completely empty. What happens when you fly out of Denver international airport? Or any airport? What does it look like down below? Empty. That’s because it is.

The world is a gigantic, empty place. We haven’t begun to “fill the earth.” That’s just one more falsehood of the environmental cult that is so powerful in our society. Don’t believe them. Charlie Kirk was right—have one more child than you can afford. The earth has plenty of room for them.
