Bad News for Atheists

The religion of atheism got some bad news recently. It came with survey on the questions, Why is there any life at all on planet earth? That’s always been a tough question for atheists but it is especially hard today because one thing modern science has concluded is the so-called fine tuning of the universe.

What’s that? There is an exquisitely narrow range of values that render our universe life-permitting. If these constants and quantities were altered by the tiniest amount life could not exist. How fine? If gravity were slightly stronger or weaker by a fraction of 1 in 10⁶⁰, that is 10 with 60 zeroes after it, stars would either burn out instantly or never form at all. That’s pretty fine.



Now to the bad news: A recent survey of physicists showed that a majority of them believe fine-tuning is simply a brute fact and they offer no explanation for how it happened. It is time to admit there is really only one explanation. The universe had a designer. It is fine-tuned because he fine-tuned it. It is time for the God-critics to give in and admit He exists and that He is the Creator of the universe.
